This non domestic energy assessor role is responsible for conducting bespoke energy surveys, feasibility studies, and providing technical information and advice to small businesses and community buildings for improving the energy and resource efficiency of their premises and processes.

Non-Domestic Energy Advisor:

-        Carrying out sustainable energy project work on a range of projects in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable transport.

-        Delivering advice visits, surveys and feasibility studies on sustainable energy to all types of Non-domestic client. This would include third sector, community buildings, public buildings, schools and businesses (from micro, home based businesses to large corporations and energy suppliers).

-        Attending promotional events (sometimes at weekends or at unsocial hours).

-        Identifying energy saving opportunities, and strategies for reduced energy consumption

-        Assisting with the implementation of reduced energy consumption strategies

-        Identifying opportunities for renewable energy technologies

-        Advising on potential financial incentives.

-        Supporting senior colleagues in preparation and presentation at meetings.

-        Supporting other Severn Wye projects and staff as required.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for someone with

-        Proven technical expertise and ability, including experience of: conducting energy surveys to a variety of different sized organisations; analysis of commercial energy data; knowledge of appropriate sustainable energy solutions in commercial environments, and the ability to write clear accurate and concise reports.

-     Ability to present reports to business owners / energy managers / committees / trustees / councillors and provide continued assistance in the implementation of appropriate recommended measures following on from energy surveys.

-        Good general knowledge of a wide range of sustainable energy technologies and issues.

-        Ability to fact find and analyse information.

-        Computer literate: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, internet, database

Desirable skills and experience include

-        Qualifications: EPC (domestic or non-domestic), DEC, Retrofit Assessor/Coordinator.

-        Experience in organising and facilitation of meetings, workshops and other events, and of production of promotional or information materials.

-        Experience of working in, or in support of, local or other statutory authorities.

-        Good general knowledge of energy infrastructure in UK.

-        Knowledge of financial incentives relating to energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, for example grant funding.

-        Experience of cross-sectoral partnership working.

-        Understanding of Business models and financial project planning.

-        Experience in regional energy planning or creating strategies.

-        Knowledge of Carbon budgeting and reporting processes.

-        Experience of Energy Management Services provision.
