If you are an organised, friendly individual wanting to make a difference to households struggling to keep warm, we have a role for you supporting our exciting Energy Advice projects.  

At Severn Wye we deliver a range of energy efficiency advice and support services to householders, as well as administer grant funding on behalf of our funders. Team members work in the community to support those who are in fuel poverty and this role will be to support them in doing their role and support the project manager in reporting back to funders. Keeping track of activity, reporting and analysing data and supporting delivery across these projects is vital to their success. This is where you come in. 

The role is focused on supporting our Energy Advice services. As project support officer, you will support the smooth running of these services on a day-to-day basis including maintaining spreadsheets, collating data, supporting the team with all administration and liaising with project partnersThis is a role well-suited to an organised individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for social wellbeing and community support working.

  Full time preferred. Minimum of 22.5 hours per week.

This role will include 

  • Supporting the smooth operation of our energy advice services. 

  • Keeping accurate, organised and efficient records, in line with GDPR regulations.  

  • Assisting the Advocate Manager with quarterly reporting on targets and scheme delivery.  

  • Anticipating issues and identifying solutions, agreeing these with the project manager and team to implement them for the benefit of the team/project. 

  • Administration of applications to fuel voucher schemes. 

  • Completing data entry on our CRM, searching for and updating client details and other records. 

  • Supporting the Advocate Manager in preparation for meetings at all levels, including, note taking or other supporting roles as required.  

  • Supporting the development of opportunities to extend and enhance existing partnerships with other organisations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

We are looking for someone with 

  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office, email, internet, database; experience working with Microsoft Teams or Customer Relationship Management systems. 

  • Outstanding customer care skills – the ability to work professionally, sensitively and inclusively with vulnerable customers.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Highly organised and efficient administration skills. 

  • The ability to fact-find, analyse information and present findings. 

  • A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to the success of the whole team. 

 

Desirable skills and experience include 

  • Working with minimal supervision, able to multi-task, manage own time and work on own initiative. 

  • Good general knowledge of fuel poverty and energy efficiency. 

  • A passion for making a positive difference and impact on people’s lives.  

  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to engage with people at all levels and from all backgrounds.  

  • Working in the voluntary or public sector.  

  • Knowledge of GDPR regulations and experience of applying this in practice.  

  • A flexible, dynamic and creative approach.  

  • Working with partners/other agencies and developing positive and meaningful relationships with partners.
